Computer systems that have artificial intelligence (AI) abilities in a narrow field
Abilities rivalling and often exceeding human abilities, but in a very narrow area of capability or functionality, such playing a game like Chess or Go, or in large language models such as ChatGPT, or in systems like AlphaFold, from DeepMind, that predicts the way complex proteins will fold into their final tertiary physical structures. Weak AI was the older term for such systems.
